The social shortcut of the island. Five bars, welcome shots at each, drinking games run by hosts who have done this a few hundred times, and the famous t-shirt you will see all over the island the next day. Solo travellers welcome; that is rather the point.

What to expect

The Koh Tao Pub Crawl is the island's social shortcut: turn up on your own and leave with twenty new friends. Running on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, it gathers in Sairee, hands out the famous tank top, and works its way through a string of bars with drink deals, games and a party that spills onto the beach.

It's the easiest way to meet people if you've just arrived, especially between dive-course days. Wear something you don't mind losing, keep an eye on your bar tab, and pace yourself, this is a diving island and the morning boat comes early.
